While I’m not as physically “young” as you I will say that since I retired (early at 55, 7 years ago) I’m in the best physical shape ever. Where as I use to sit at my computer working I now exercise pretty much everyday. I either do 30 min of a very hard bike workout (I love my peloton), and hour+ walk, or do a 1 to 3 hour hike at many of the nearby open space parks. Pre-pandemic I went to the gym and did a lot more strength training.

Since retirement I I’ve lowered my BP and heart rate and increased my endurance.

My motivation is to stay ‘young’ in retirement so I can enjoy it! I would suck having all the time in the world and spending it visiting doctors. I want to delay that as long as possible. I want to enjoy this time.

(I’m guessing I’ve seen you jog by my house but never recognized you)
