Sorry to hear that you are going through this. The not knowing the issue is the hardest part for me to read but also what both you and the puppy is going through. Praying for some answers soon and better yet some good news.

"An emergency vet visit is shockingly expensive"

Yeah, we took our cat to an emergency vet last summer. No regrets on our part, but ouch.

Sorry that you and Jake are having to go through this. I'm glad you're focusing on what's right for Jake. Best wishes to the two of you.

Ay yi yi I'm so sorry.

We got Lola from a lady who did rescue adoptions? I'm not sure the terminology but she was taking care of 3 puppies at her house until they were old enough to be adopted.

Lola is a mutt afaik (we've never done dna testing) but like your previous dog she elicits smiles everywhere - she just *looks* happy.

I'm not super happy with our insurance. It's like $5k a year now and nationwide just told me they are cancelling their 'whole' pet coverage in favor of a more restrictive policy next year.

The Trupanion website quoted me a price that was more than double what their phone lady said. So don't go by that. Call them, speak to a human, and say you want a high-deductible policy.
