I never really got into metal as my favorite genre (with a few other exceptions), BUT after re-listening to "Feed my Frankenstein" song a couple years, ago, the sound arrangement is really well put together.
I was around 7 or 8 when I first watched it. That it was a comedy movie on VHS, made it more accessible than say, Marilyn Manson, which probably would have been confusing and even darker as a child. There is a really interesting scene with Rip Taylor in the 2nd Waynes World movie, which changed my life after seeing the Thelma and Louise parody. I'll try to explain it in a future post.
Very interesting article. I love that Alice Cooper was supportive of Jason Hook, who co-wrote an amazing song for Five Finger Death Punch (among others) called "Wash It All Away" and does a fantastic solo in the video -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9VFg44H2z8.
Sad to hear that about Billy Joel, but it's not an unusual story. The celebrity world is a rarified and isolating one in which stars don't know whom to trust. The ones who seem to thrive surround themselves with family and friends from before they became famous because they know those relationships are genuine and they also know those people will call them on it when they get too big for their britches.
I love Ozzy -- my cat is named after him -- but Sharon has played a big role in his career. Her father was in the business and she worked for him. Well worth reading her autobiography for an insider view of the music biz.
In-laws are a murky area, as are siblings in some cases!
I was going to say, if you enjoy rock, Alice has a radio show called Nights with Alice Cooper every weeknight. You can find more info here --https://nightswithalicecooper.com. I really enjoy it as he gives commentary on songs and artists and has some fun segments.
It's probably me. I keep changing my little side photo. I'm here --https://ezprine.substack.com -- and just did my first post today to get over my publishing hesitancy and get things going. Kudos to you for getting your stuff out there. It's a bit daunting!
I first heard of Alice Cooper in the Wayne's World movie:

It’s not really my thing, either, but I know Alice is meticulous about his musicians, so I might take a listen.

I watched it. It’s just harmless teenage entertainment. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Thanks a lot!
Oddly, it WAS family who stole from him. Or sort-of family.

I think there's another E.Z. on Substack. But now I can't find her/him.
